With Instagram being the first thing you look at as soon as you wake up, I'm sure it's hard to run out of outfit ideas. I sometimes wonder, that when I was in college, having something like Instagram would make my mornings so much easier! But had Instagram existed back then, I wouldn't have found the amazing blogs I used to & still follow and also, I probably wouldn't have been motivated to start my own! A part of my everyday schedule was to browse through my favourite blogs and bookmark looks that I'd love to replicate in my day to day life & of course in my own way. So I thought that for those inquisitive minds who still do take the effort & interest in visiting a blog and reading the story behind the look, I'd create a Back to School look and also give you a little low down on what you should do to create that foolproof wardrobe!

Most college days are long with a minimum of 6 hours being spent sitting at a bench which means that comfort is key! This chambray denim dress from Only, is not only comfortable and on trend but the sleeves add that extra oomph to the look. Look for pieces that are classic and comfortable but have that little extra something which will make you stand out from the crowd. The best & most trouble-free way to change up the look is with your accessories! This was my favourite trick back in college and in fact, I have yet to be done with it. The dress worked as a beautiful canvas for some layering action. I just picked out 5 of my current favorite dainty pieces and layered them one by one. Not only did it make the look unique but you also don't have to worry about someone else having the same necklace because, Hey! you just created that in your bedroom!

Comfy shoes and a bag in a hue that will match your wardrobe colour tones is key! You really can't go wrong with a pair of sneakers at the moment. Pair it with jeans for that carefree, chic look or even with a dress like I did to add some edge to that feminine vibe! Most of all don't be afraid to experiment with your style. The more you experiment, the more you'll know what works the best for your mind as well as your body type and hence lead the path to having an impeccable wardrobe and style, which would be the envy of many down the years. I hope this helps some of you and Good luck for these amazing college days! Live them to the fullest because trust me, most of these memories will live forever.

Shirt & Skirt- Veromoda, Bag- Michael Kors, Shoes- River Island, Earrings- Aquamarine| Location- MRP, Mumbai

Amidst the various couture weeks, my mind is bustling with so many ideas and visuals of intricate detailing which makes every look so very special. So for this week's outfit, I wanted to focus on a design that reminded me of those gorgeous creatives yet something that could be worn on any regular day! This skirt from the Artisan Block trend is made from a soft cotton and I loved the flounce and flair it entailed. You could obviously pair this skirt with something from your existing closet but I decided to pair it with a matching shirt. The Artisan Block collection from Veromoda takes it's inspiration from indigo & geometric prints which are incorporated in feminine silhouettes. It consists of a lot of soft textures combined with chambray & lace for an uber chic handcrafted look. The outfit required very little assistance when it came to accessories so I stuck to a dainty pair of white sandals, a nude oversized day bag & a pair of earrings made out of vintage coins! For a contrasting pop of colour, a red orange pout did the trick!

Dress & Cape- Only, Shoes- Asos, Choker- Aetee| Loction- Meuble India

The past couple of weeks have been a constant struggle between "If it's meant to be, it will be" & "If you want it, go get it". I've always been a believer of the latter half but as time passes by, I've come around to making peace with the former too. There is not an ounce of doubt in the fact that, hard work coupled with positive vibes make for a steady cocktail for success or even that much craved sanity. However, recently I've found myself mentally stranded for days, even after downing several of those cocktails. I'm definitely not someone who believes in beating themselves up for every little incident and I would rather find the good even in the worse situations. So what does one do when you're feeling lost and uninspired & no amount retail therapy, spa visits, love notes & scrumptious food can lift your spirit, you just wait it out and let this phase pass.

I've often stated that my style is a derivative of my mood & this outfit depicts my current frame of mind rather aptly. The soft hues represent the calmness that you may see in my demeanor and on the surface but that bold pout constitutes of the chaos that I can barely wait to let out! I absolutely loved how this crochet & lace cape paired with this flowy peach dress creating a subtle yet striking difference. The key hole detail in the dress was further accentuated with an opulent choker. I wanted to add a dose of colour so I went ahead and added a pair of old asos pumps to match that burgundy pout. Where and when would I wear this look? For a date night or even for a day full of errands & meetings, with a pair of flats and maybe slightly a muted pout.

Dress- H&M, Cape- Bershka, Watch- Gc watches| Location- Dessange Salon, Bandra

When it comes to styling my hair, I'm quite easy going & you'd often spot me sporting either natural, wavy curls or that air dried straight look. I don't like fussing around too much on a daily basis and that has led me to enjoy care-free hair. However, I haven't been able to ignore the prevalence of intricate braids on literally every Instagram account I come across! Which is why I was very excited to drop in at the swanking new 3500 sq.ft Dessange Salon at Bandra for a fun Braid Brunch with Kerastase. To begin with, the luxury salon was absolutely gorgeous with a high ceiling and white interiors and is home to the best local and international stylists. My counter was already set with a placard placed right next to it. I was then quickly briefed about the Book of Braids and how I could pick a style to try experiment with on that day!

Their celebrity stylist Loic, quickly had a look at my hair and suggested we do something summery which is what I had in mind too. So we decided to go for a casual summer braid with lots of care-free curls. He started off my prepping my hair with the Kerastase Elixir Ultime serum which not only protects the hair from heating tools but also reduces the frizz. He parted a section from the crown to create a fishtail braid and once that was neatly set in place, he then moved on to lightly curl the remaining sections. He then sprayed the Kerastase Elixir Ultime oil mist to add volume, opulent shine and softness to the mane. I absolutely loved the final result and am super excited to try more braids this season!

For some reason, I always feel more confident about the food I eat or any skincare or hair care that I use once I know the ingredients that go in it. So if you talk ingredients to me, you're definitely succeeding in luring me in and you have my undivided attention. A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to the Launch of Garnier's new range of Ultra Blends shampoos & conditioners. The oldest memory that I have of this brand is pestering my Mom to get me a bottle when we were shopping at a department store because I obviously knew what was best for me at age 11 too. Jokes apart, having that memory of holding that iconic bottle in my hands etched in my brain, made this interaction with the brand a lot more exciting. Garnier's packaging has always been visually pleasing and so I couldn't expect anything less from the event. Held at one of the city's highest rooftop lounge, the decor was mainly white but punctuated with pops of fresh hues.

The 5 new ranges were laid down in a rather unique way, with all their core ingredients arranged around them. Not only did that make for a fascinating visual but it gave you a brief about the different ranges at a glance! The first range that caught my attention was the Blackberry & luscious Henna, bottled in a gorgeous aubergine coloured bottle. Indians have been known to use henna in their hair to deep condition for years and this range is the perfect blend of Henna's power to revitalize your hair and the concentration of antioxidants along with Vitamin C in blackberries which would make your hair shine from within. The next one was of course the rich Soy Milk & Almonds range which sounded like the ideal breakfast for my hair! Almonds & soy milk come together as a deadly source that restores the protein in your hair, making it naturally stronger and healthier.

I then moved on to look into the Mythic Olive range which claimed to intensely nourish dried out hair making it easy to detangle and softer to touch. Sounded like the go-to range for this manic monsoon which leaves my hair dry & brittle eventually resulting in hair fall! Which brings me to the next range, The Royal Jelly & Lavender which is a decadent recipe that reconstructs the hair strand by strand resulting in a stronger, fuller mane that is resistant to hair fall. And of course the last range that is called the 5 Precious Herbs. This is a blend that combines the best of nature to detoxify the scalp, leaving you with hair that is full of life. The 5 herbs include Green tea which stimulates microcirculation. Eucalyptus which has incredible healing properties, Lemon which enhances natural shine, Aloe which provides the much needed moisture & Henna which deep conditions.

The brand insists that this is not just any shampoo and conditioner range but it's hair care for naturally beautiful hair, like you've never felt before. It's about rich ingredients that are blended with love, just for your hair! My favourite currently is definitely the Mythic Olive range. Which one would you pick for you hair? You can also follow Garnier on Twitter & Instagram for more updates.
