I was very kindly invited by Reliance Trends to attend the Rahul Mishra show at Lakme Fashion Week S/S '16 edition! Having received accolades nationally & internationally, his show was something I was excitedly looking forward to. The basis of his collections have always been textiles and the designer did not disappoint as his pieces narrated tales of Indian textiles, the intricacies of centuries old craft and the deep ocean of wealth in handcraft of India, the journey this season brought forth diverse influences and timeless traditions. Using patterns and designs that emerge from the beauty of porcelain added dimension to the Bandhani - the intricate tying and dyeing of fabric from Kutch. The collection also seamlessly blended conventional draping methods. The colours, the styling, the simplicity made this collection worth drooling over. Ileana D'cruz was the show stopper, cascading down the ramp in a gorgeous hand embroidered silk floral long dress. This one's already on my wish list!

Now let's get to my outfit. I picked out this look while I was at the store launch last week! Although there were several options to chose from, I loved the print, the colours and the paper bag waist of this floral skirt. To create a fun contrast, I went ahead and paired it with this super light weight mint polka dots shirt which added a formal touch along with a touch of playfulness.
