For as long as I can recall, I have always been a jewellery lover. It started at 15, with an obsession of collecting earrings and went on to become what now demands a chamber of it's own! And despite being very well aware of the fact that I don't need any more jewellery, maybe for a few decades even, I can never refuse a gleaming pair of earrings or that stunning cocktail ring or my favourite, a statement necklace! Usually my rationalization is that I don't own this exact colour and in that  twinkling moment that is reason enough.

So when I came across, it was love all over again. If you happen to follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you probably already saw the gorgeous red, orange and navy necklace I recently wore. Next, my eyes were set on this deep blue mixed with coral stones necklace; it was a combination I had rarely seen! Promptly, I knew we had found a piece to compliment a recently purchased bright, neon blouse. I then stumbled upon this stack of bracelets which just had to be added to the cart .And because every bracelet ever made, must be mine, how could I leave this behind?

I was recently a part of a quick Twitter Interview and one of the things she asked me was, "What are your must haves for the party season?" and the first few things that I rapidly typed out, were, anything jewel toned, pencil skirts, statement necklaces and the trusty sequins! It's true, this season that's really what anyone needs. And if you're thinking pencil skirts aren't your thing, think again. If you're a little conscious of donning this classic 50's trend, try pairing it with a simple tank top along with a sleeveless waistcoat or a boyfriend blazer. Pick darker hues as they are most likely the safest way to venture in. If you're well versed with this trend already, then go ahead and splurge on a sequins or printed skirt and you're pretty much all set to get the party started!

Getting ready for the party season is never an easy task. So many weddings, cocktails, birthdays, anniversaries, somehow, December is always a crazy month! Now you can barely control what's to come, but to avoid the last minute 'I-have-nothing-to-wear' panic, you can plan what you'll wear! I love my dresses, especially for occasions, because it's a perfect outfit all on it's own. But one dress won't do the trick. So here's a quick guide on how you can make your wardrobe party-friendly with just a few pieces!

- Look for that one dress that fits you like a dream! A vibrant hue will always make sure that all eyes are on you. If you're not ready to wear all that colour yet, the classic LBD should do the trick.

- This season, it's all about the pencil skirts and mini skirts. Find one in a colour or print that can be paired with various tops/blouses. A pencil skirt accentuates your curves and is perfect for those glamorous nights!

- A little sequins is a must around this time! Be it a jacket, a pair of sparkly shorts, an embellished dress and if you're feeling a bit daring, even a jumpsuit. Pair it with jackets/blazers and minimalistic accessories to create the perfect ensemble.

- A drappy blouse is another essential you cannot skip. It's the perfect blend of conservative yet sexy and you could pair it with your favourite skinny jeans to dance all night! It can't get easier.

-Statement accessories! A pair of statement earrings or necklace is something that you must invest in. It adds so much to a simple outfit and it'll instantly transform your old black dress into a brand new one! A nude structured clutch/sling is also something that will get you through these array of events flawlessly.

So when you hit the malls this weekend, make a mental check list of all these things so that you don't miss out on anything!

This is undoubtedly my favourite time of the year, weather wise & fashion wise. The parties get more jovial, the weather gets nippy and you can safely begin to layer your clothes! I recently visited the Bebe store to pick out an outfit for a friend's sundown party. The outfit had to be versatile enough to not only work while the sun was out but to even fit the bill as dusk approached. I was on the lookout for a gorgeous maxi skirt to aid the situation at hand but surprisingly their dresses had all my attention. The store was full of fall friendly attire in variations of purple, white, black, green and red. I also spotted some shimmering and sparkly sequinned pieces in black and gold, which I am slyly eyeing for New Year’s Eve!

While strolling through the store, I came across these stunning pleated floor length dresses in green, pink and orange with gold details around the shoulder. Just when I was struggling to pick between them, my sight fell on this dress, which appeared to be the clear winner. It was effortlessly apt for the occasion while satiating my need of wearing something pleated and the purple-based palette enhanced the sultry sensibility, complemented by white, pops of orange and yellow. Predominantly, the silhouette was what had me staring but the fact that the print resembled a watercolour painting, made the dress appear even dreamier. The black accents add such a contemporary dash, breaking up the print in the most perfect pattern. It also gave me the option of throwing on a cropped leather jacket or coat if it happened to get chiller through the evening.

When you're wearing a piece that speaks for itself, there is very little need to over accessorize. I added simple gold hoops and a beautiful bangle cuff which matched the hues perfectly. This simple purple sling bag, which can also be used as a clutch, is perfect to carry those minimal party essentials. Add a simple pair of strappy heels in black or gold and voila, you're all set to watch the sunset in style.

Last month I worked on a quick styling project which I was personally quite excited about. Styling two men for a celebrity based television show back in May is the only men's styling experience I can list, so I was a little nervous. Although, it's hardly a task to style a good looking man, we were determined to experiment with different looks, creating a good mix of classic and contemporary, so were quite thrilled by the outcome.

Cropped tee-, Skirt-, Shoes- Steve Madden, Bag- Michael Kors, Watch- Marc Jacobs, Bracelets- Forever21, Glasses- Forever21

Today marks the third anniversary of StyleDrive! I am trying not to be too excited but excitement is shamelessly gripping me. It's been a rather eventful journey and I have thoroughly enjoyed every step involved! I genuinely want to thank  all of you for showering me with so much love, kind words and for being patient. Now I don't mean to make a big deal out of this, hence let's get to the outfit!

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you probably have seen both these pieces styled differently before. I love pairing this sports inspired t-shirt with my ripped boyfriend jeans for the day and this gorgeous fitted skirt with silk blouses for the evening. But recently while stalking one of my favourite websites,,  I came across this article which made me want to mix these two up! I love the idea of pairing almost everything with a simple tee. One, because it makes any outfit look casual yet chic! Plus you get the freedom to accessorize like a queen.

I have spoken about my love for cobalt a bunch of times before. And if you've been following me for a while you're probably accustomed to my partiality towards all hues of blue. So there was really no questions asked when I saw this skirt and instantly added it to my cart! The asymmetric hem adds a modern look to something which would have been a simple pencil skirt. I added my favourite black heels, my everyday bag and these glasses that I recently snagged from Forever21! Aren't they perfect to turn any look into a Geek Chic one?

The Indian Route

All outfits- Biba, Accessories- Just Jewellery, Home accessories- The Home Label,  Shot & Edited by Smaran Sahu

As the festivities approach, it seemed like the perfect time for me to share some of my favourite pieces from Biba's new festive collection with you! The collection is full of ethnic, opulent attire. The colours, the prints, the fabrics are all well suited for the upcoming jovial period. Truly elegant and comfortable, their designs are cut out in light fabrics making them irresistible to add to your wardrobe! This season it's all about showcasing the elegance and richness of Indian clothes in the form of flared silhouettes in opulent fabrics.

I picked my favourite pieces, to put together three looks that fit right into this season! The simple green kurta with the floral vest acts a perfect causal ensemble to wear to any day time events. Pairing it with a statement necklace draws more attention to the vest and adds a touch of royalty. The orange and pink leheria suit is a perfect balance of traditional and modern. I decided to play up this piece by adding statement earrings in a contrasting turquoise shade. The last and final outfit, is one of my favourite. Not only do I love the colours, but the front open long kurta with the kalidar skirt add just the right amount of drama. I went all out with this look pairing it with smokey eyes and statement earrings!

I seldom take this route but when I do, I make sure my hair, make-up, accessories are all in tow. India being such a culturally diverse country, has so many different traditional facets. Biba's new collection, takes a little out of each tradition, making sure there is something for everyone. So this year, go all out and get ready for a rather extravagant time! I hope you enjoyed my take on Indian wear.

College Fads

College years for me were one of the most celebrated days. Not only was I fortunate enough to make great friends but I luckily also met my sweetheart through my best friend! Frankly there is nothing that I would like to change from those glorified years except maybe being a little more experimental when it came to my outfits. Now, I'm a Virgo and we seem to follow rules and all that. My alma mater appeared to have quite a few restrictions when it came to clothing: - no sleeveless, no short dresses or skirts and all that. And hence I reluctantly stuck to my basic jeans and blouses.

When I put together this outfit, I was aiming at creating a weekend appropriate look but I realized that this is essentially so college friendly. Not only is it super comfortable and modish, it also seems to get through all the restrictive barriers that a college might throw at you! The midi dress is super relaxed and the hue is perfect for this time of the year. I threw on a plaid sheer shirt to add a dose of print. And these burgundy sneakers from Forever21 fit in perfectly.

It’s always gratifying to break rules but it’s even more pleasurable to find your way around them. Unlike what I assumed, you don’t always require to show skin to look stylish. All you need are some basic, flattering pieces, that work around the regulations and tons of pieces to layer with. Another quick fix is accessorizing. Not only will it accentuate the ensemble further but it will also make it seem like you put in an effort even at 7 am! So next time you're wondering what to throw on, give this look a go!

One way ticket to Dreamland

It's almost been three years since the idea of starting a fashion blog began to linger in my head. Everything I saw, read, thought of, pushed me to doing just one chore and that was enabling this dream. Now the reason I call it a dream is because I really didn't think I'll make it. I wasn't sure if this is something that's leading me somewhere. But in that moment, this is all I wanted. And so it started.
Since then, my life has only enhanced. I have not only evolved in my sensibilities pertaining to fashion but also grown immensely as a person. I could brush it away, lie to myself and believe that it was just the growing up part that caused the change. But I'd be wrong because really everything I am today, has something to do with a decision I made three years ago.

And why am I bugging you with these floating thoughts? Because all this made me believe even more in a concept that only seems to strike a code with optimists i.e. everything happens for a reason. Now I know we are all very busy, cautious, prepared, trying to make sure that we're doing everything that we need to for our betterment and growth, but really sometimes, the only thing we need to do, is to let go and let things play out the way they need to. The liberation you'll feel once you do that, you can thank me for later.
So if there is something you need to let go of, something you need to start, now's the time. I know it seems hard right now maybe even irrelevant, but it get's better and before you know it, you'll be there.
