Plain & Simple

Skirt- Asos, T-shirt- Zara, Necklace & Bag- Aldo, Cuffs- Forever21 & StyleDrive, Shoes- Steve Madden

Lace & neon is such a gorgeous combination. I have started enjoying statement clothing pieces like this skirt which can be paired with a plain, simple tee and still look so glamorous. I know a lot of you refrain from wearing neon clothing and I can understand why. Pairing neon clothing with other pieces can be tricky. I prefer sticking to neutral tones like white, black or grey or a combination of these hues. Instead of playing with colours, I like playing with textures and my accessories for such a look. I went for modern gold jewelry and a tassel ladylike bag to complete the look.

Mane Concern

I have really long hair, so a good hair care routine becomes a must to maintain them, especially during the monsoon! These are the products and steps that I swear by for my mane.

Step 1- I keep changing my Shampoo & Conditioner every 3-4 months. The L'Oreal X-tenso is my new favourite! It leaves my hair soft and cleans the scalp perfectly. I wash my hair everyday therefore I prefer using a mild shampoo and this one works perfectly.

Step 2- Ever since I came across Moroccan oil, around almost a year ago, it has become a holy grail product. I apply a small amount of it everyday after washing my hair. I have stopped using all the serums & it's kinds. Moroccan oil is an organic treatment which not only tames the frizz in my hair on a daily basis but has also done long term wonders for my hair.

Step 3- I avoid using heat on my hair during the monsoon because that only makes my hair drier. But if I really have to, I would never do it without a heat protectant. The John Frieda Frizz-Ease is an all time favourite. It acts as a 2-in-1 by helping with the frizz and the thermal protection works against the heat. The Fx Flat iron spray is another amazing product. If you're someone who likes blow drying or straightening or curling your hair on a regular basis, please use a heat protectant, if you don't already. It will reduce the damage caused by the extensive use of heat.

Step 4- Mumbai's humidity makes it hard to keep my hair in place. So whenever I curl or straighten my hair, I spray on some hair spray to help it last longer.

Step 5- Last, I use 100% pure coconut oil every fortnight as an over night treatment to keep my hair healthy and to prevent them from drying. It moisturizes my hair and makes up for all the damage caused due to pollution, heat used or chemicals! And whenever I feel extra love for my hair, I book myself a hair spa!

L'Oreal Professional X-tenso Shampoo & conditioner, Organix's Moroccan Argan Oil, Keratek's Morocco Argan oil, John Frieda's Frizz-Ease, FX's Flat iron heat protectant, L'Oreal Elnette Satin Hairspray, Coco Care

TIP :- I believe using too many products can only damage your hair. So try to find the few products that work for you and stick to them. Also try using organic products as much as you can. Avoid buying cheaper hair products, instead invest in some good hair care.

Neon Pops

The neon trend has generated such frenzy throughout the summer. A few designers have even taken neon pops into fall/winter. So if you're someone who is still eagerly finding their way through these bright hues, here are three simple ways of adding these exaggerated colors to your outfits in small doses without making it look like you tried too hard.

Add a neon necklace, earrings or bangles to any outfit to create an unusual contrast which is eye catching and attractive. This is the easiest way to start. Invest in one simple piece of jewelry, like this necklace from Zara and pair it with various looks to incorporate the trend. ( Find similar at Zara or Aldo. )

A neon bag or clutch is yet another way to indulge in this trend. It’s an easy way to make a statement without seeming obvious. Invest in a fun neon bag for work to add some colour to those boring work outfits. If you’re not comfortable with investing in a day bag, start with an evening clutch. This neon pink box clutch has become my favorite. You will be surprised to see how well it compliments most colors. ( Find similar at FashionAtClick. )

The last way is to brighten up those nails! Neon nail polishes are not easy to find but they are definitely one of my favorite ways to rock this trend. With being easy and economical to experiment with, it also brightens up these grey monsoon days. I have being wearing this neon orange polish from Zoya for over 2 weeks now and I still can’t get enough! ( Find similar at Flipkart or Urbantouch. )

Vertical Explosion

Bag, ring and bracelet- Pret-Amoda, Skirt- Styledrive for Spring Break, Shirt(similar)& Shoes- Zara, Earrings- Colaba

I have been wanting a vertical stripped shirt since a really long time. I saw several on Asos, H&M and even Colaba but none satisfied my check list. I wanted something non black, flowy with gold detailing. So when I walked into Zara and saw this shirt hanging right in the middle of all the colour chaos, I just had to get it. Since then, it's been giving company to all my bright skirts and pants. It goes well with almost any colour!
Besides that, online shopping has taken a serious toll on me. Every morning I wake up to a new website, no jokes. While I've passed oh-so many temptations, I have also succumbed to a few. Pret-amoda, which was relaunched recently is on the top of my list. I've been loving their jewelry, bags and the designer overload. It's a challenge to go onto this website and not buy something! Don't believe me? See it for yourself.

Also, the Styledrive for Spring Break sale has been extended. Don't miss it this time!
