Mix & Match

Tank- American Apparel, Shorts- Colaba(old), Cardigan- Forever New, Brogues- Zara, Tights- Vero Moda, Bag- Zara, Necklace- Forever21, Rings- Aldo,Forever New

Mixing prints can be a risky path to take. I frankly don't take this route too often but when I do, I keep a few things in mind which may help you a little if you wish to try it.

- Start by mixing 2 prints first. Once you become a pro at it you can go for 3, 4 or whatever suits you.

- Make sure one print is bolder than the other. For example my polka dot shorts are more prominent than the stripped tank top. This will help in balancing the entire look.

- Try taking contrasting shades to create a nice visual effect. But make sure they compliment each other.

- Choose one colour as your base colour and add or subtract a few layers. Like for me, I added the cardigan and tights.

- Last, accessorize with neutral colours like tan, nude, beige, etc.

And voila.
Don't worry if you don't get it right the first time! Keep trying ladies. Hope this helps you in mixing & matching.

P.S : - Happy Republic Day to all my Indian viewers! :)

I was wondering..should women with broader hips wear printed pants or skirts?
won't it make them look broader?

    1. Yep, if you have broader hips go for a smaller print on the bottom.

  19. Cute skirt Ayushi. Looks very cute but not flattering on you. You know you are bottom heavy. Just a personal suggestion. Skip shopping for a month and hire a personal trainer asap. You might look beautiful in pics (Thanks to the photographer BF you always mention) but I have seeen you during F1 and was surprised! Please don't ignore fitness. What's big labels and beauty without a flattering body? You'll surely rock if you shed some kilos. I am a regular here please don't brighten the pics to look super pale. you looked pretty in the make up diaries video. We want to see natural stuff. Please :)

    1. Hey Smriti, how nice of you to make such intriguing suggestions. My boyfriend will be flattered to know how much you appreciate his photography. And I have never tried to portray myself as a super pale person because I am very comfortable with the way I am. Sorry for being such a cause of frustration for you. But thanks for dropping by. :)

    2. Smriti,

I would call it complimenting and taking it back as well. If you have ever played with the camera, you would realize that a lot of game is played by the lighting as well. Mostly in a broad day light your skin tone tends to look a little brighter and in a normal indoor lighting your skintone would look a different shade. Sometimes you also do have to brighten up the pics to make the colors of surroundings look more flattering. All of us want to see good pics no? And my god! she has a gorgeous figure. It takes guts to be a fashion blogger because you are posting your full pics in public and letting people judge you for every single thing you are. Respect that.

PS: I am new around. You go girl. You are fab the way you are. Don't let these "pinch of salt compliments" let you down by any means. :)

    3. Thank you so much Rati! It would take a lot more than a baseless comment to let me down and then it's people like you who motivate me to do better! This means a lot! :) xx

  23. Mixing prints is indeed a risky act. But if you feel confident and beautiful in what you wear, you would definitely rock with it.
