Day to Night in Blazers

Burgundy Blazer, Floral Blazer, Gold Sequins Blazer- Styldrv for Spring Break (a/w '12) collection, Grey tee & leopard print sandals- Zara, Blue denims- VeroModa, Metallic bag- Asos, White tank & black denims- H&M, Studded bag- Zara, Spiked necklace- Blur, Blue Silk dress- River Island, Jewellery- assorted

I love wearing blazers. Unfortunately for me, this city gives me merely 2 months to actually enjoy wearing them through the day. So as soon as it got a bit pleasant, I grabbed the chance to flaunt my new blazers. Be it a casual meeting, a friendly lunch or a glam soiree, blazers are all I've been reaching for. I would tell you how versatile they are but I'm sure you already know that.

For the first look, I paired this gorgeous on-trend oxblood/burgundy blazer with a laid back grey tee with leather patches tucked into a simple pair of denims. An overload of gold jewellery, a metallic bag, leopard print sandals and I'm out the door.

For the next look, I went for a winter floral blazer which was perfect for that quick catch up lunch. A basic tank top and my trusted black jeans with burgundy pumps was my choice of attire. Keeping the rest of the outfit basic helps the blazer shine in all its glory. I accessorized with some rose gold jewellery and a studded clutch to add some edge.

For the last outfit, I had to pick this glam gold sequins blazer. I was heading to a glam soiree and I would settle for nothing less. Paired it with a printed silk blue dress to balance the look. Finished the ensemble with a tiny gold bag and minimalistic gold heels.

I hope this video gave you a few styling ideas. And for those of you who want to buy these blazers but want to try them on first, this is your lucky week. Come visit us at our very first STYLDRV for Spring Break Exhibition being held at Lagerbay in Bandra (Mumbai) on the 15th December i.e. this Saturday! Not only will the items from the collection be up for trial/ purchase along with guaranteed discounts from 5% to 20% but you will also get a preview of the second half of the collection which is not up on the website yet. This is the perfect opportunity for you to stock up on your party clothes for this festive month. If I was you, I'd make the most of this happy situation. Look forward to seeing you there!

Top 5 Favourite MAC Lipsticks

L to R- Shy girl, Chatterbox, Vegas Volt, Impassioned, Russian Red

According to me, every girl needs 5 lipsticks in her life. A nude to take you through the day, a pink to brighten up those dull work days, a coral for the perfect lunch date with your girlfriends, a fuchsia when you want to look your best and a red for those glam nights. So if you're a MAC lover or you love MAC lipsticks but get overwhelmed by their wide range of colour everytime you visit the store, this list might help you make a decision.

1) The Nude
Shy girl is the perfect nude to get you through your daily routines or to balance out that sexy smokey eye for a night out. You can use it with a blush or coral lip liner to enhance the colour. I love it on it's own with a little bit of pink gloss over it.

2) The Pink
Chatterbox is one of the first few lipsticks I ever purchased from MAC. It's a red tone pink which would suit most Indian skin tones. It's an Amplified finish so the colour pay off is amazing. You must check this out if you love pink lips.

3) The Coral
MAC has a wide range of coral lipsticks but Vegas Volt is my favourite. It's a coral with pink understones which looks amazing when paired with a bronzer and a couple of coats of mascara. Whenever I feel like dressing up an outfit for the day time, this is what I reach for.

4) The Fuchsia
Impassioned is a colour that I had to literally run after. It's usually out of stock and once you own it you will know why! Its the most beautiful fuchsia lipstick. One of my absolute favourite bright lips to wear, this colour is a must have for anyone who loves a bright bold lip!

5) The Red
A girl can never do without a red lipstick. And Russian Red has saved me on various occasions! One swipe of this matte red lipstick and I'm ready to face anyone! If you're looking for that typical pin-up red lipstick,  this will end your search. It is a matte lipstick so I'd suggest you scrub and moisturize your lips well before you apply it. I do  love Ruby Woo and Lady Danger as well but this one is definitely my favourite of them all.

These are my Top 5 favourites! They are priced at Rs.990/-. Which MAC colours do you love? Do leave the names below, I'd love to check them out.

How To : Spike It Up

Shirt(old)- Pull & Bear, Spikes- Something Special(Bandra)

I have been loving anything  and everything with studs or spikes on it. But I don't wish to spend all my money on these trendy pieces. So, while I splurged on a few items, I had to find a cheaper alternative to deal with this obsession and hence this do-it-yourself  idea! Follow these simple steps and you can stud anything from your t-shirts to your shorts to the pockets on your jeans. So let's get started!

What you need :-

- A shirt or any basic piece
- Spikes (whatever size you want)
- A needle
- Matching thread
- Some sewing skills

Steps

1) Once you've selected the piece you want to add spikes to, select a thread in a matching colour and thread your needle.

2) I wanted to add the spikes to the pocket of my shirt. I decided to add three lines of spikes and marked the spots with a marker so that it's easier once I start sewing them on.

3) Once done with the first line, I followed the marked spots and continued with the other two. When you're done, don't forget to knot the loose end of the thread.

And that's it. That's how easy this is. I am in love with my new shirt and have been flaunting it around since the day it was done. So this weekend, grab a cup of your favourite coffee and take on this easy task!

Red Lips x StyleDrive For Spring Break(F/W '12)

Shirts- StyleDrive for Spring Break(F/W '12)Coming soon, Lipsticks- MAC's Lady Danger, Russian Red, Media

A scarlet pout is so dependable. Be it the classic pin-up red, the bright orange red or this season's favourite, burgundy. See how me and my friends are wearing three completely different shades of red in the video?! Rely on it to brighten any dull day or add that extra spark to your outfit. I love wearing a red lip at any given time of the year! But for those of you who are still shying away, now is the perfect time to start.

You can choose from a variety of red hues depending on your skin tone and outfit. Who doesn't love the classic red pout? But if you're already comfortable with that, step out and try a few other hues. A bright orange red is what I rely on for all those grey days. It's the perfect day time, bright lip. As for the nights, I've been enjoying the deeper berry shades. Red is such a classic color, not experimenting with it would be unfair. So this season go out and rock that perfect pout!

Also, if you're wondering where our shirts are from then let me tell you that you can buy them very soon as they are a part of the StyleDrive for Spring Break (F/W '12) collection! I am super excited as this one is going to be even grander. You beautiful women supported us so wonderfully last time and we hope that the new collection will blow your mind just as much. From sequins to red hues to fall florals, we have everything covered. Follow me on Facebook to be the first one to know all about the collection and for more updates!

A tip :- If you want your red lips to last longer, apply the lipstick and blot it a few times before you apply it for the final time. This will stain your lips and help the colour to stay right there for hours!

How To : Shoe Makeover

Loafers-Wanted shoes, Spray paint, glue gun and half pearls - Stationary store

Embellished shoes were all over the fall runaways. Be it the metallic heels or studded loafers, they were all seen in plenty. I don't wear loafers that often, I'm more of a sandals/ballet flats person. But embellished anything is always tempting and hence the thought of turning my loafers into something pretty so that I could at least wear them. So here's how you can upgrade your shoes from boring to 'where'd you get them?!' shoes.

What you need :-

- Shoes/ Loafers
- Gold spray paint
- Half pearls
- Scotch tape
- Glue gun / Glue
- Newspaper

Steps

1) Start of with taping off the sections of your shoes which you don't want the spray paint to ruin. I wanted to spray paint the heel and bottom seem of my shoes so I taped the shoe accordingly.

2) Hold the spray paint can a few inches away from your shoe and start to evenly spray the paint. Go slow to achieve that even, smooth look. Don't forget to lay some newspaper where you're doing this as you don't want to ruin your flooring now, do you?

3) Let the paint dry for about an hour. My loafers had tassels in the front, so I decided to take them out and spray paint them separately.

4) Once the paint is dry, take your glue gun and start placing the pearls where you'd like to. I decided to place two stripes around the heel.

5) Let that dry for about 15 minutes. And voila.

Your perfect pair of fall loafers are right in front of you. Time to go flaunt them!

A date with the hairstylist

I always get surrounded by questions about my hair and I even did a blog post showing you the products I that I swear by for my daily routine. I recently visited the salon for a haircut and this time over, we decided to give you a sneak peek!I used to stick to one hair salon, but now I like experimenting and discovering new places. I get my hair cut every 4-5 months. My hair is extremely long and so sometimes I tend to have dry/split ends that I have to get rid of. This time, I even wanted to add some more layers to my hair to improve it's texture. My hairstylist used all Moroccanoil products and that just made me happier. She introduced to me to the Glimmer Shine spray, which is the best shine spray ever! A new haircut always feels good and refreshes your look. I hope you guys enjoyed the video.

How to : Collar Chain

Skull Earrings- Blur, Chain- Craft store, Shirt- Lazymanxcatshop, On my nails- Paz by Zoya

I've been seeing these collar chains all over Asos and even though I've been tempted to add some to my cart, I wanted to first, give this idea a try. This is by far the easiest do-it-yourself project but I had to share it with you! You probably have all the things you need at home and it will take you 2 minutes to transform your old shirt into something a bit more trendy. So let's begin.

What you need :-
-Stud earrings (plain or jeweled)
-Gold or silver chain
-Scissor

Steps
1) Pick out some cool stud earrings from your existing collection or from any store. I found my skull earrings at Blur and because skulls are so in this season, I decided to use these.

2) Next, measure the length of the chain and cut it according to how long you'd want it to hang from your collar. If you ask me, 15cms is good.

3)Now put the chain in from behind your earring and glue it in place if you want. I didn't glue mine because I plan to use this chain with various other earrings.

4)Pierce it through your collar and put the screw on.

And voila. Wasn't this a child's play? Too bad it didn't strike you before you saw this. Now go, try it.

How To : Embellished Shoulders

I was strolling at Zara the other day when I came across this embellished t-shirt. Now I've been seeing a lot of these embellished clothes at almost every store with stones either on the shoulder or the collar or the sleeves or the neckline or even all over. Though they are wonderful to look at, I can't imagine wearing most of them for too long. But with the Zara t-shirt, I almost bought it, but then I realized that I could actually just make this myself, if not the exact same thing, something similar which would have the same effect. So here I am, sharing this idea with you! I hope you try this and save yourself some precious bucks. Let's get started.

What you need :-
- An old or new t-shirt/jumper (mine is old)
- Some stones to embellish
- A chalk
- Fabric glue or Glue gun

Steps
1) Wear the old t-shirt and mark the center of your shoulder with a chalk. This will help you in deciding where you would want to ideally place the stones.

2) Keeping the center in mind, use the chalk to mark the rest of the spots for the jewels.

3) Use your glue gun or fabric glue to securely place those stones on to the spots marked.

4) Repeat the steps on the other side. Leave it to dry over night and voila!

You will wake up with a trendy piece lying in your wardrobe and what's even better? You actually made it!

PS :- For those of you who are wondering about how to wash this? Just dry clean it my friend.

How To : Blue Smokey Eyes

Products Used  : -
Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer in the shade Natural
L'oreal's True Match Mineral's Powder
Urban Decay's Eyeshadow primer potion
L'oreal's Infalliable Eyeshadow in All Night Blue from the new L'or collection!
Dior's eyeshadow in Argentic
L'oreal's Super liner eyeliner
Maybelline's The Falsies Mascara
Mac's Fix Plus

Tools Used : -
The Body shop's Eyeshadow Blender brush
Sponge tip eyeshadow brush (Beauty Center)
Eyelash curler from Faces

Steps : -
1) Apply some concealer around your eyes to create an even base and cover up any darkness. Set it with any setting powder or foundation.

2) Use a eye shadow primer to make sure that your eye shadow lasts longer and to make the colours look vibrant.

3) Using a eye shadow blending brush start blending the dark blue colour into your crease. Slowly increase the amount to darken the shadow. Gradually building the colour up will help you to achieve the look better than going super dark all at once.

4) Spray some fix plus on to your sponge tip brush and dip it into any silver shadow. Now apply this eye shadow on to the middle and inner corner's of your eyes.

5) Next, apply a thin eye liner using either an eyeliner brush or in my case L'oreal's Super Liner.

6) Curl your eyelashes and coat them with your favourite Mascara preferably waterproof.

And voila. Go ahead and rock this Monsoon friendly night time look!

Top 5 favourite lipstick brands

I was never into makeup products like I am now. It's been almost 2 years since I first started collecting makeup and learnt about the techniques and tools to be used. It's definitely something that intrigues me a lot and now I end up spending a lot of my money on it.
As I got more and more into it, I also figured out how certain brands are better with certain products or simple things like shelf lives of a product and how to spend less money on things like Mascara which can only last you a maximum of 3 months and more on products with a longer shelf life.
My all time favourite make up products would have to be a good concealer, a voluminousness mascara and a bright lipstick! These are 3 things that I cannot live without. I have collected quite a few lipsticks- some high end and some drug store, over the years. Here are my top 5 lipstick brands :-

1) Maybelline

They make such amazing products at such affordable prices. I love their lip products! I own a few of their  lipsticks and Pink Petal is by far my favourite shade from Maybelline. They cost somewhere around Rs.300 and smell amazing (if you care for that). The packaging is alright, not my favourite but it works out. All in all you get more than what you pay for and if you are a lipstick lover like me, you must try these!

2) Revlon

Revlon is such an amazing brand just generally. I love their mascaras, their nail polishes, their lip glosses and of course the lipsticks! They make some absolutely wonderful finishes in gorgeous colours. They range anywhere between Rs.400-600 and usually have a sleek black packaging. My favourite Revlon colours have to be Coral and Pink Pout. Both of them look gorgeous on a skin tone like mine and stay on for a good amount of time! So next time you're at the mall don't forget to check out the Revlon counter!
( I can't wait for their Lip Butters to launch in India. I picked up two of them on my recent Holiday and I absolutely love them!)

3) MAC

Mac by far has the most amazing colour range as far as lipsticks go. They do about 5 finishes out of which Amplified and Creme sheen's are my favourites! Everytime I go to a Mac store, I want to buy more lipsticks! It's kind of a problem. But they are so amazing. Not only do they have a sleek packaging and delicious smell but they are also moisturizing and last on my lips for a decent amount of time. The darker colours tend to stay on better though. They are priced at Rs.990 unless they are from a limited edition collection. My favourites would have to Impassioned, Russian Red and Chatterbox. Do try them if you love wearing lipsticks and want to invest in some good one's. Mac also has a back to mac policy, in which you can take back 6 empty product containers and get a Free lipstick in return! Bonus points!

4) Chanel

Chanel is one of my favourite cosmetic brands. Their products smell so good and every time I use Chanel products, it just makes me happier. Their lipsticks are not the best but they are pretty good. I am not a big fan of their finishes and colour palettes but every now and then I do find a shade I love. They cost around Rs.2000 and are definitely not something I indulge in all the time! Their lip glosses are pretty awesome too. Pluses, they are super moisturizing, smell SO good and I love the packaging. Minuses, over priced.

5) Nyx/ Colorbar

Okay so these 2 brands rank the same for me! They are both amazing and cost the least out of all the brands I've mentioned above. I love the Nyx Matte lipsticks and their Soft Matte lip Creams! I had ordered so many from www.beautyjoint.com( btw, you can get a discount on this site if you use the code- STYLEDRIVE at checkout) last year and since then I have received a compliment every single time I've worn them in person or even in my outfit posts! Their packaging is pretty good but what I love the most is the colour pay off of their lipsticks! Another amazing thing is that their Matte lipsticks are not drying unlike most brands. Really good stuff!

As for Colorbar, I own 3 of their lipsticks and they are all so good! Not a big fan of their packaging but I love their wide range of colors and the fact that they are so affordable! My favourite shade would have to be Smokey Rose.

So these are my top 5 favourite lipstick/lip product brands! Which is your favourite lipstick brand? I love lipsticks and I enjoy trying new shades all the time, so do leave a comment below and tell me if know of a  shade that you think I should try!

How to : Studded Shoes

Shoes- Colaba(Rs.150), Studs- Something Special, Glue gun- Any stationery shop

I have been seeing studded shoes, clothes and bags in almost every store and on every website since over a month now. And though I like the trend, I wasn't sold out by any particular piece. So I decided to try my hands on making something similar which  would be easy on my pocket and would satiate my need of having something studded! I studded a pair of black shoes, you could use the same technique and stud an old bag or even the pocket or collar of an old t-shirt or blouse.

What you need :-
- Flat studs
- Glue gun/ Adhesive
- A pen
- A pair of old or new shoes

Steps
1) Take a pen and mark the places on the shoes where you would like to place your studs. This will make it easier when you start placing the studs.

2) Now take your glue gun and apply some of that glue to the marked spots and simultaneously place the studs before the glue dries.

3) Check if you want to add some more studs here and there to make it look better.

4)Let the glue dry for an hour or so before you flaunt them. And there, you have your own pair of studded shoes.

A tip- Don't worry about the studs being symmetrical unless you have a particular pattern in mind.

Hope this gave you some fun ideas! Also, don't forget to enter the Styledrive for Spring Break Giveaway which ends tomorrow!

Three ways : Pink Denims

Denims- Zara(new collection), Black&white tank- Colaba, Mint sheer shirt- Styledrive collection, Floral jacket- Styledrive collection, Cream asymmetrical top- Mesh, All shoes- Steve Madden, Black bag- Steve Madden, Nude clutch- Thrifted, Yellow clutch- Zara

Coloured denims are here to stay and you guys know my obsession with them. However going ahead and adding these bubblegum pink pants to my wardrobe was a huge step. There is a very thin line between looking chic in pink and resembling barbie. Here are a few things that you might want to keep in mind :-

1) Black & White
Adding a black or white or a black and white printed top is the easiest way to style these pants. You could go with a sheer black shirt, a classic white one or even pair it with a black and white polka dots or floral top. This will ease you in with the idea of wearing super bright pants and balance the look. Add a big black bag and some jewellery to add a modern touch.

2) Pastels
Paring pastels together is such a huge trend right now. And no, no one is complaining. The colour palletes are so flattering and look so fresh when paired together. I love how the mint shirt complements the pink colour. So if you're someone who likes turning heads, this is the way to go. Try using silver tone jewellery with these colours. It will enhance the colours.

3) Florals
Floral has always been a spring/summer trend but this year it's blooming like never before. Going from bright bold prints to subtle pastel one's they are all over the place. So this is an outfit for those of you who love being on trend. Balance out the floral and the pink with a neutral piece like this cream asymmetrical top that I wore. Add some statement gold jewellery to finish the look.

And now the news!!! So I have been working with this wonderful store to come up with a spring/summer line for them. It has been the most amazing and enriching experiences of my life, so far. I have had so much fun putting together the entire collection, it's been stressful but it's such a satisfying place to be in. The collection will be available by the 1st week of April at the store and online. I hope you guys liked the video and I hope there is something for everyone in the collection! Thank you so much for all the support you guys have given me, it means a lot. Will give you details on the store and how you could buy the pieces soon!

How To : Dainty Nails

Shirt- Topshop, Necklace- Colaba, Polishes used- Orange Mimosa by Colorbar, Opi's Extra-va-vaganza, Incolor Chrome nail makeup 04(random), Revlon's nail enamel in Natural

Hey everyone! S & I have just been so caught up with work for the past couple of weeks so we have had no time to go shoot an outfit post! So I thought meanwhile I'd share a few how to's with you! I hope you guys enjoyed the previous one. Anyway, this has been my favourite way of wearing my nails since December. I love the two-toned, shimmery & dainty effect that it gives.

What you need :-
Your favourite nail varnish shade
A glitter polish
A polish with chunkier glitter
Top coat

Steps
1) Apply two coats of your favourite nail varnish. I am obsessed with tangerine(which our dearest Pantone says is the colour of the year). You could switch it up with a pastel colour or a darker shade.

2) Carefully apply a coat of the glitter polish but make sure to apply it only up to the middle of your nails.

3) Apply a coat of the chunkier glitter polish on the top half of each nail where you applied the smaller glitter polish.

4) Lastly, just apply a top coat to make sure the glitter stays in place and to give your nails a smooth finish.

And voilà. Hope you guys liked it! Do post pictures on my Facebook Page if you happen to try it.

How To : Summer Braid

Shirt- H&M, Red Ring- Styldrv, Spiral Ring- Aldo, On my nails- Orange Mimosa by Colorbar

Having your hair in a braid is perfect for spring/summer. So why not add a little twist to the old, conventional braid? It's easy and you'll have people pondering over it. Here's how you get it :-

Step 1- Comb your hair out with a brush or a wide tooth comb to make sure that your hair is free of knots and tangles. You could try this hairstyle with freshly washed & dried hair or even with second day hair.

Step 2-  Divide your hair into three sections like you would for a normal braid. However, for this one make sure that the middle section is thicker than the other 2 sections, which should be sectioned approximately equally.

Step 3- Now leave the side sections and braid the middle section like you would in a normal braid.

Step 4- Secure this braid with a hair elastic similar to your hair colour so that it merges into you hair.

Step 5- Now braid your hair with all the three sections like you would while making a normal braid.

Step 6- Secure this with a hair elastic too.

Step 7- Now just to add some more fun, I used a spiral ring to cover up the hair elastic. This will make sure your braid grabs all the eyeballs it possibly could. This step is obviously optional but I suggest you try it. You could use any fancy ring you already own.

So here we are with a messy, old yet new summer braid. It'll look a bit more textured than a normal braid and people will assume that you have actually put in some time in doing you hair! You can loosen it a bit if you want to make it look even more messy. You could even go one step further and tie your braid up in a side bun. Hope you guys will try this out.

F - Squared: Le Pain Quotidien

Blazer- Marks&Spencer(recent sale), Tank- Zara, Jeggings- Pieces, Shoes- Aldo, Ring- Hill road, Cuff- Styldrv

S & I recently went for a casual rendezvous to Le Pain Quotidien. This video is a mix of our favorites - Fashion being mine, food being his.We thought we could show you a little from the time we spent there. This was our second time there and we loved it even more. The food, the ambience, the people it's all so soothing. If you live in Mumbai or are planning to visit soon, you must check this out because the Belgium dark chocolate waffles are to die for.

I wore a light weight coral red blazer which I recently scored at the Marks&Spencer sale. Can you believe it? It was a complete surprise. This is my first ever clothing piece from there but I absolutely love it! I paired it with a cropped tank from Zara and some jeggings. I am trying to get some use out of my blazers while the weather permits me to.
This was just another way of showing you what I wore & I hope you guys enjoyed watching it! See you soon!

How to : Wear Neon Lips

Jumper- Zara, Lipstick- Nyx Matte Lipstick in Shocking Pink

I know this is a little early considering spring is not even close but I have been obsessed with wearing bright/neon colors so I just thought this could help you. Here's what you need to do :-

Step 1 : - Use any lip scrub to get rid of the dead skin. The one I am using is from Lush in Bubblegum. If you don't own any lip scrub, don't fret. Just mix some olive oil or baby oil with sugar and lightly rub it on your lips. It will give you the same result.

Step 2 : - Apply your favourite lip balm or lip conditioner to moisturize and prep your lips for the lipstick. The lipstick that I am going to use can be drying specially during winters. So i'd suggest you apply a considerate amount.

Step 3 : - Now outline your lips with a concealer. Make sure to blend it well around the lip area making sure you leave no lines or patches. All the attention is going to be on your lips so you can't leave the surrounding area unattended. And this will also brighten up the area making it look flawless.

Step 4 : - Take your favourite neon/bright lipstick and apply it carefully on to your lips. The lipstick I am using is a Nyx Matte lipstick in the shade Shocking Pink. I have now become confident enough to apply it directly from the tube but if you don't have a steady hand yet, I'd recommend you use a lip brush to get that perfection. Make sure to cover the side area of your lips. I personally would leave them matte but if you're a gloss girl go ahead and dab some.

And now? Get out and rock it! Beware of the stares! I hope this helped you all. Have a happy and bright day.

A lot of you have asked me several questions regarding the makeup I use or even my hair care routine and the products I rely on. This series is going to be dedicated towards showing you what I use, solving your queries in the process.

I don't wear all of this make up every single day. I am just sharing a few things from my collection with you to help you decide on or find something that maybe you're looking for. I hope you guys enjoy the video and the series as a whole. Do leave your feedback below and if you have any further question you can either post them below or on my facebook page.
